Here are some savvy tips that can help you to stretch your data to the limits so that you can socialise, work, learn, entertain or play more online.

1. Listen to music WITHOUT using data
WI-FI: Spotify/Apple Music/Google Play Music allows you save or download your albums and playlists

2. Watch your movies WITHOUT using data
WI-FI: Netflix and other video streaming platforms allow you to download movies. Look for the download on the video details page

3. YouTube clips can be WATCHED without using data
WI-FI: Download button in the lower right-hand corner

4. Large Files
WI-FI: Set to only download large files over Wi-Fi

5. Maps
WI-FI: Download cities and then your navigation and location work off-line without using any data

6. App Updates
WI-FI: Set your Apps that uploads only run when you are connected to Wi-Fi

7. Save data on Facebook
Disable auto-play videos: Facebook recently added a feature that automatically plays videos in your newsfeed, regardless of if you wanted it to or not. To avoid unintentionally downloading these videos:
Facebook Left Navigational Panel > Settings > (General Settings) Auto-Play videos on Wi-Fi only

8. Save data on Instagram
By default, Instagram will automatically preload videos upon opening the app,
regardless of your network connection. This means that every video in your feed will buffer even if you weren’t going to watch it, needlessly using your mobile data.
To disable this setting:
Instagram profile > Settings bar > Cellular Data Usage > check “Use Less Data”

Watch videos by streaming on a lower definition as it uses less data.
Check the size of an e-mail attachment before sending or downloading it.
Check all your App settings regularly especially after an update to see if there is a data saving option.
