Strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, cranberries, mulberries, and raspberries – it\u2019s berry season again! Bursting with bright colours, taste, and goodness, berries have been called one of the healthiest foods on earth. Loaded with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, with strong anti-inflammatory properties, here\u2019s 10 reasons why you should consider including berries in your diet this summer.<\/p>\n

  1. Can reduce the risk of disease as you age, such as cancer, diabetes, and heart disease<\/li>\n
  2. Reduce blood sugar and insulin levels, which is important for those of us struggling to lose weight or who have diabetes<\/li>\n
  3. High in fibre, which slows down the movement of food through your digestive tract, leading to reduced hunger and increased feelings of fullness<\/li>\n
  4. Low in calories and high in good vitamins and minerals, especially Vitamin C and Manganese, all of which helps to protect you against illness<\/li>\n
  5. Lowers blood pressure<\/li>\n
  6. Reduce the risk of Parkinson\u2019s\u2019 disease<\/li>\n

    Berries are as good for breakfast as they are for dessert. They are delicious alone or in healthy recipes.     Take advantage of lower-priced berries at the moment, buy in bulk and freeze them. Frozen, or fresh, the nutritional content of berries is much the same. You\u2019ll also find that many berry farms offer the opportunity to pick your own berries from the source, which can be fun, and a great outing, and also reduces the cost per kg.
