World Quality Day is an initiative by the Chartered Quality Institute that is celebrated globally every year, with the aim of increasing worldwide awareness of how quality professionals contribute to organisational and national growth and prosperity.

The theme for World Quality Day 2019 (#WQD19), taking place on November 14th, is “100 Years of Quality”. It marks the CQI’s centenary year, celebrating 100 years of leading quality management.

What is a Quality Professional?

While everyone in an organisation is responsible for the quality of their work, quality professionals are those that specialise in this area and help organisations to deliver. A quality expert will provide the knowledge, tools and guidance to help everybody else play their part in pursuing excellent standard of quality.

Some quality professionals are concerned with the delivery of products and services, while others are focused on the leadership of an organisation. They are employed in-house, or they might be external consultants.

Some titles for those in the quality professionals field include quality manager, quality engineer, quality director or assurance manager. These professionals are dedicated to protecting and strengthening their organisations by ensuring that quality standards are met – and exceeded.

World Quality Day recognises the contributions of quality professionals across the globe. This gives businesses everywhere the opportunity to celebrate their teams’ and organisations’ achievements.
