How to be a happier you

Are you struggling with difficult feelings? Here are some ideas to get a hold of some of those feelings to become a happier person:

Feeling overwhelmed?
Tell yourself you are strong enough to tackle everything that needs to be done and that this too, shall pass.

Feeling anxious?
Take a few deep breaths to calm yourself down. Breathe in through your nose for 4 seconds, hold for 7 seconds, and release your breath slowly through your mouth for the count of 8 seconds

Feeling upset and angry?
Cool off by slowly counting to 10. Remove yourself from the situation and return later when you feel calmer

Feeling low and depressed?
Speak to a friend who can listen without giving advice or judging you. Allow yourself time off to do things that you enjoy, to pick you up.

Can’t sleep at night because you worry?
Take a piece of paper and make a list or drawing of all your worries. Try to add a plan of action to the things that’s in your control.
