Importance of quality

What does “quality” mean to you?

The Oxford Dictionary describes “quality” as the degree of excellence that a thing possesses. The excellence or quality of your life and work portrays your character, attitude and personality. You are measured by what you do and what you create. Thus, being a “quality person” can improve your standing in the community, and producing or doing something that is “high quality” can improve the standing of your company and give you a greater chance of success. “Poor quality” on the other hand, results in amendments at additional cost, problems that can be difficult to diagnose and solve, and can even cost lives.

Quality management

To stay healthy, you need to eat quality meals that are healthy and delicious and have eight hours of quality sleep. When you buy a house, the size and design is not as important as the quality of material used to build it. It’s also wise not to buy a product just because it’s cheap; rather buy a product of the best quality that you can afford.

Quality time

Spending quality time with your friends and family will enrich your life as well as theirs. Telling your little ones stories before tucking them into bed, taking an interest in your older children’s schooling by attending PTA meetings, and taking the family on a picnic now and then will pay dividends.

Quality control

The whole of creation was formed with quality control in mind. The Bible reveals that when God created all things He said that it was “good” and that man was “very good”. If God in His infinite wisdom sees quality as being important, then surely we are to follow in His footsteps.
