On 28 April, the world celebrates the World Day for Safety and Health at Work. “Health” in this sense means your physical, emotional and mental health, but also includes a healthy environment, healthy relationships, healthy finances, healthy lifestyles … in fact, anything that may influence you as an employee.

This is where your Employee Wellbeing Programme (EWP) comes in! The EWP is sponsored by your employer out of concern for your health and wellbeing and LifeAssist has been chosen to provide this service to you. LifeAssist wants to make the world a better place for you.

How do we do this? By giving you counselling and advice − 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year! This could be via the telephone, email, or personal and you can talk to us in English, isiZulu, Xhosa, North Sotho, South Sotho, Pedi, Tswana and Afrikaans.

Our service is professional, independent, voluntary and private. So, if there is any matter that impacts your wellbeing, engage with us in any of the following ways and together we can change your life for the better:

  1. Phone us on your EWP number.
  2. Browse around on this wellness website. Feel free to complete the How Can We Help You? Form.
  3. SMS us at 32341 (South Africa only) and we will call you back. Please note this channel of communication is for non-emergencies only.

Among the issues that we would like to help you with, are:

  • Emotional, psychological and relationship problems
  • Trauma
  • Lifestyle issues such as diet and nutrition, fitness and exercise
  • HIV and Aids
  • Legal opinion and financial issues, including debt counselling

More information on the EWP is available in the EWP Handbook which can be found on this website at “About your programme” on the home page.

Give it a try – you don’t have to walk a troubled road alone. LifeAssist is here to help you.
