A urinary tract infection (UTI) is an infection involving any of the parts of the urinary system; the kidneys, the ureters, the urethra or the bladder. The most common of the UTIs is bladder infection, also known as cystitis. UTIs are also common in babies and young children.
Younger children are not always able to understand everything that happens around them, but they can still be affected by stressful events, trauma and life-changing events. Communicating their distress could be challenging because of their age and developmental stage, but there are some signs that can tell a parent or caregiver that a child is suffering from stress.
